Training and Capacity Building Workshop on Trans-boundary Protected Areas, Dec. 17–21, 2012, Sundarbans, Bangladesh
The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Coastal Zone Management Centre carried out a training and capacity building workshop on transboundary protected areas in collaboration with the Bangladesh Forest Department and other stakeholders in Bangladesh. The workshop aimed to share experiences and knowledge, and improve the overall understanding about the conservation and management of the Sundarbans and its coastal ecosystems with a special emphasis on community interface. A total of 25 participants, including representatives from five SAARC Member States, namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Sri Lanka, participated in the workshop
