Participatory Watershed Development in a Changing Climate: Building Resilience and Reducing Vulnerability, Feb. 18–28, 2013, Maharashtra, India
The course objectives are to understand the process and strategy involved in stabilizing the natural resource base (land and water) through participatory watershed particularly in the context of a changing climate; see the impacts of successful micro-watershed development and management on the lives of villagers; initiate a dialogue on how “best practices” of community-driven watershed development can be adapted to their own country contexts; and increase knowledge and skills to deal with climate-induced uncertainty and vulnerability while building the adaptive capacities of rural communities. The course will also introduce and mainstream vulnerability reduction and risk management strategies for climate change adaptation, especially in regard to agriculture and natural resources management.
