ICCIP Launches ’Evaluating Climate Change Adaptation Projects (ECCAP)’
The International Climate Change Information Programme has started an initiative called Evaluating Climate Change Adaptation Projects (ECCAP) to ensure the focus on the evaluation of the effectiveness and impacts of climate change adaptation projects in a dynamic way. At present, more than 300 internationally funded climate change adaptation projects are being implemented with a combined budget exceeding US$ 1 billion. But few of them provide external assessments of their effectiveness or meet appropriate quality control procedures. ECCAP intends to fill this gap by assisting international agencies in reviewing their projects’ scope and effectiveness, and facilitating the identification of shortcomings that prevent the achievement of the expected results.
