Dhaka –The international conference on ‘Building a Collaborative Research Platform to Support the Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan’ was held in Bangladesh from 18-19 April 2010. The purpose of the conference was to share the results of the project and present recommendations to be taken up by stakeholders, including the Bangladesh research community, the Government of Bangladesh, research funding agencies and international research partners.

This conference also marked the end of a year-long project to develop a framework for collaborative research on climate change and the land, water, food, health, and nutrition interface in Bangladesh. The project was initiated by the United Kingdom Collaborative on Development Sciences (UKCDS) and implemented by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) in collaboration with local partners including the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS) and North South University.
