Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI), the Southeast Asian node of APAN, is organizing a training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from September 20 to 21. This training aims to improve the capacity of national and local authorities for mainstreaming climate change adaptation in development planning by:

· Providing general concepts on impacts of climate change, and climate change adaptation;

· Discussing different approaches of climate change adaptation at regional and national levels;

· Providing examples of adaptation technologies in vulnerable sectors and areas such as socio-economic, agriculture, and water;

· Providing guidance on mainstreaming and integrating adaptation into national and local planning processes; and

· Providing guidance on prioritizing adaptation measures.
