The Sixth International Forum for Sustainable Asia and the Pacific (ISAP2014)

SHARE THIS PAGE:

In 2015, the international community will reach two important milestones related to sustainable development, namely establishing the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the post 2020 climate regime. Asia will also witness the economic integration of ASEAN, impacting the direction of sustainable development. Considering such milestones, ISAP2014 aims to discuss how we can build a low-carbon and resilient society through partnerships between governments, civil society, the private sector and other stakeholders. The event is organized by the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS). It will also feature a “Roundtable on Harnessing Synergies between Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).” In the Roundtable, participants will evaluate the current experiences of operationalising the synergies between DRR and CCA in actual implementation and discuss existing bottlenecks and the way forward for harnessing such synergies. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, 16 July 2014. For registration and further details, please visit: http://www.iges.or.jp/isap/2014/en/
