The meeting was a follow up to the previous consultative meeting in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. It exchanged scientific knowledge and practical experience on planning climate change adaptation in Mongolia, besides organising a write-shop to draft a project proposal.

It was attended by high-level officials in Mongolia, including Policy Adviser to the President and Special Envoy on Climate Change, government officials from Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Industry, researchers from Mongolia and Japan, representatives of donor agencies, including ADB and JICA, and the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Japan.

At the end of the meeting, the Network was able to confirm the necessary tasks needed to mainstream adaptation, and to draft two project proposals regarding rural livelihoods and water issues.
