This course is developed in an innovative partnership among Wageningen University and Research Centre (Wageningen UR Centre for Development Innovation, Alterra and PRI), the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The course is the outcome of a process of needs assessment and dialogue among the partners on how to respond to Climate Change challenges in East Africa. It is part of a support programme for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in East Africa, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality in the Netherlands. This training is one way of strengthening the capacities in the region, through well established local structures.
