Description of Intervention
• Existing water ponds will have strengthened linings and be increased in size to increase yield and water collection for drinking purposes;
• More than 20 villages will be protected from the surges and sea intrusion at surface level;
• Over 25 acres of land will be rehabilitated using organic and biological processes for agricultural use;
• Seminars, workshops, co-ordination and meetings with legislative bodies will be carried out with proactive participation of communities; and
• Construction of flood emergency shelters will be undertaken.

Persistent occurrence of extreme weather on the coasts of Badin and mismanagement of natural resources has lead to the conversion of productive lands into waterlogged, salinated or parched areas. This further act as a stressor and affects the livelihoods and well-being of the local population. Anticipating the intensification of impacts to be further intensified, the following project was envisaged.
