Description of Intervention
Undertake in-depth assessment of mariculture technology focusing on the specific needs of the fishermen and the future vulnerabilities of coral reef ecosystems to climate change and to implement mariculture demonstration projects in the existing fisheries extension service centers.

Lack of advanced practices in fish farming anticipating climate change impacts
Aims
Better bait fishery management and exploration of alternative techniques of live bait catching, culture and storage
Objectives
• To enhance the knowledge on bait use and utilization, alternative live bait, catching methods and improved holding techniques;
• To strengthen the policy, regulatory and institutional framework for bait fishery Management; and
• To demonstrate innovative, appropriate and cost‐effective mariculture for breeding alternative live bait species.
How it fits into the EbA concept
Since the project aims at improving existing mariculture (Bait Fisheries) technologies keeping the vulnerability of coral reef ecosystem to climate induced changes and hence ensuring livelihood security of fishermen, the project qualifies to fit in the CCA concept.
