Description of Intervention

The objective of this project is to assist India to prepare and submit its National Communication to the UNFCCC to meet its national commitments. The project also seeks to address the gaps listed out in the Initial National Communication in terms of research and policy implementation related to adaptation and mitigation action.

Objectives

• Development of an institutional framework of coordinating agencies for research and action on adaptation and mitigation;
• Development of vulnerability and impact assessment studies; and
• Development of a GHG inventory for priority sectors.

Sectoral Vulnerability Assessments provide for integration into the Climate Change Adaptation concerns of the country.
