Description of Intervention
The project sites represent three vulnerable eco-systems i.e. coastal, brackish and semi-arid highlands. All the three are vulnerable to climate change enhanced events like salinity, cyclone, water-logging, flooding and extreme droughts. The present project aims to develop a community-driven adaption plan. Further, it aims to mainstream climate change adaptation into sustainable development planning process. Through the identification of livelihood vulnerabilities to climate change, climate variability, and other natural hazards, this project will develop strategies to reduce such vulnerabilities identified in the risk assessment process.

Objectives
• To enable local communities and governance bodies to assess community risks to climate change and variability by following a participative approach;
• To build confidence of Local Government Entities and enhance skills of community people in developing stakeholder-inclusive adaptation plans at community and local government levels;
• To Mainstream climate change issues; and
• To increase confidence of the multi-level stakeholders on replicability of the identified local level livelihood adaptation strategies.
How it fits into the EbA concept
The project is a community driven, participatory approach to adaptation. The primary beneficiaries of this intervention will include poor and marginalized farmers, agricultural laborers, landless women, indigenous people, small traders, and students.
