This four-week course introduces concepts, tools and mechanisms to help design and implement community-based disaster risk management programs. The course presents examples of partnership programs, micro-finance schemes, and formal and informal educational approaches that aim at developing a culture of prevention. Further, it underscores the need for greater engagement with people and a better understanding of their risks and resources.
