This publication demonstrates 33 topics related to vulnerability, impacts and adaptation that are recommended for research. The topics are classified into three categories: information to support policymaker decisions; systems and regions; and emerging topics. Each of the topics describes why the research is needed as well as specific activities that respond to that need. The topics reflect a balance between research ‘supply’ from expert communities and research ‘demand’ from policymakers. For more information, please visit
