Good Practices for Community Resilience

This report summarises results and findings from the Practical Action-Bangladesh project “Mainstreaming Livelihood-centred Approaches to Disaster Management” implemented in the Sirajganj District, Bangladesh, highlighting the success factors and lessons learnt with respect to increasing community resilience towards vulnerabilities. It emphasises that vulnerability to disaster risks can be minimised while contributing to poverty reduction by increasing the resilience of poor communities’ livelihoods. It also highlights other measures for the betterment of poor communities such as strengthening of community cohesion and improvement of informed-decision making capacity
