Climate Change, Sea-Level Rise, & Health Impacts in Bangladesh

This study reviews prevalent human diseaseslinked to sea-level rise in Bangladesh, particularlythose from newer environmental threats, such assalinity intrusion in soil and water in coastal areas.It helps outline the human health impacts thatneed to be urgently monitored with appropriate,well-designed, and methodologically soundepidemiological studies investigating climaticvariation associated with diseases, combined withModeled scenarios, so that early research results canbe used to guide sustainable adaptation measuresand public health policies. The paper also identifiesthe range of adaptation measures in currentpractice as well as those planned, as a set of actionscomplementary to national goals of Bangladesh.
