Second Crop Diversification Project (Loan-2649)

SHARE THIS PAGE:

The project will foster commercialization of agriculture through interventions to promote diversification into high-value crops (HVCs) and value addition, gender mainstreaming, and climate change adaptation. The project will pilot test climate-resilient (drought-, flood-, and saline-tolerant) varieties of crops to facilitate adaptation by HVC farmers. These activities will focus on pilot locations in drought-prone areas in the northwest, and areas vulnerable to cyclones, flood surges, and salinity in the southwest, following a vulnerability assessment to develop effective adaptation options and strategies. Climate-resilient crop varieties, and cropping patterns and technology will be tested and disseminated to help farmers adapt to climate change.
