Media Round Table on Strengthening Urban Capacity for Responding to Climate Change Impacts
The confluence of urbanization, climate change, and poverty mark a new set of challenges for cities and communities in the 21st century. However, current capacities in cities to be able to respond to these driving trends and cultivate resilience come up short. During the forum, the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network (ACCCRN), supported by the Rockefeller Foundation,  will host a media roundtable with leaders active in efforts to strengthen urban climate change resilience and community resilience.  Saleemul Huq, Director of International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and IPCC lead author, will moderate the panel, kicking  off by sharing the vision for ICCCAD as a centre of excellence positioned in the developing world to  train tomorrow’s practitioners and leaders in climate change resilience building.

Drop-in Demonstration Sessions of a Climate Compatible User Guide by CDKN and IDS
CDKN and IDS will be demonstrating their online User Guide to Climate Compatible Development Tools (www.climateplanning.org). Many climate change tools have been developed and are currently in use across the world. However, there is no simple way for decision makers and planners to find out which climate compatible development tools are most appropriate to their work and local circumstances. This guide has been put together so that you can find the most useful climate compatible tools and methodologies for your needs. The guide has considered over 30 tools for climate compatible development building and planning, from the donor, private sector, NGO and country-led communities. Policy-makers and practitioners are invited to take a tour of the guide. CDKN and IDS will also be showcasing the guide at our exhibition stands throughout the forum.
