The Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) is the main venue for the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum 2014. The building was constructed in the late 1970s and it is named Putra World Trade Centre after Malaysia’s first Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. It is one of the nation’s premier convention centres. While PWTC has the largest exhibition space in the country, it offers all the necessary services, i.e. bank, post office, and business centre; as well as food and beverage, i.e. restaurant, café and catering services.
PWTC is located next to Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle and approximately 52 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). It is highly accessible through road, rail and serviced by frequent bus and taxi services. At the same time, it is within easy walking distant of restaurants and 3-5 star hotels.

Transportation between Airports and Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC)
1. KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA)
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is the main aviation hub in Malaysia. It is located in Sepang district, in the southern part of the state of Selangor bordering Negeri Sembilan, approximately 50 km from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur.
Most international flights arrive at Terminal C which is located at the Satellite Building of KLIA. An aerotrain provides a complimentary shuttle service for passengers between the Main Terminal Building and the Satellite Building every 3 – 5 minutes. The aerotrain takes just about 2 minutes to travel into a tunnel that runs underneath an airport taxiway and into the Satellite Building.

Please take note of the options for transportation from the KLIA to the forum venue, PWTC, and back to KLIA. Please note that travel duration may vary depending on intermediated stop and traffic conditions.
Option 1: Airport Taxi / Limo
Upon arrival at the KLIA, the authorised airport taxi counters can be found at the Arrival Hall, Main Terminal Building after Customs, before the public arrival waiting area. If you disembark at the Satellite Building or the Terminal C, please take the aerotrain to reach the Main Terminal Building.
The airport taxi service is operated by Airport Limo (M) Sdn. Bhd. Taxi fares are charged according to destination and the type of taxi or limo required. There are 4 types of airport taxi available to choose from:

Please tell the person in charge your destination (e.g. PWCT). You will then be quoted the corresponding taxi fare. Upon paying the fare, a coupon and receipt will be issued and you should then proceed to the dedicated pick-up point or taxi-stand which is usually located at Door 3 on the same level. No further charges need be paid to the taxi driver.

Option 2: Train
There is no direct train service from KLIA to PWTC. Participants who wish to take the train service may refer to the suggested train connection below. KL Sentral Station will be the 1st transportation hub after leaving KLIA.

2. KLIA 2
KLIA 2 is a newly constructed airport that takes over the Malaysia Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT). It operation starts in May 2014 and more information about it will be announced shortly.
3. KL Sentral Station
KL Sentral Station is a transportation hub that integrates rail transportation in Kuala Lumpur. A total of 6 rail networks are available. They are KLIA Express Rail Link, KTM Komuter, KTM Intercity Trains, Electric Train Service, RapidKL Rail and KL Monorail. Within the station, there are variety of retail and commercial shops and offices, such as convenient stores, pharmacies, bank, money changers, telecommunications, and ticketing counters (airlines/buses/trains). In addition, there are restaurants and cafés offering variety of food and beverage.
- KL City Air Terminal (KL CAT), Level 1: KLIA Ekspres (ERL) which offers the non-stop high speed rail service to KLIA
- Transit Course, Level 1: Urban public transit services by KTM Komuter, KLIA Transit and RapidKL Kelana Jaya Line.
- Transit Course, Level 2: KTM Intercity trains which connects from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok and Singapore.

4. Public Train and Light Rail Systems in the Centre of Kuala Lumpur
I. KLIA Express Train (ERL)
The Express Rail Link Sdn. Bhd. offers express train that connect KLIA to KL Sentral. The express train is also known as ERL and is available in 2 categories which are the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit.
- KLIA Ekspres
It offers a non-stop high-speed airport transfer between KLIA and KL Sentral in 28 minutes. Participants are recommended to take the KLIA Ekspres.

II. KTM Komuter
KTM Komuter is the 1st electric train in Malaysia which connects Kuala Lumpur City Centre to the surrounding sub-urban areas. It offers two main routes which are the Tanjung Malim – Sungai Gadut and Batu Caves – Pelabuhan Klang. Stations such as Bank Negara, Kuala Lumpur, KL Sentral and Bandar Tasik Selatan offer connection with other rail systems, i.e. MyRapid and KLIA Ekspres or ERL. Besides, it passes the Mid Valley Station where the Mid Valley Megamall is located within walking distance.

III. MyRapid
MyRapid is, also widely known as RapidKL, a bus and train service operator in Kuala Lumpur City Centre and Klang Valley. Its light rail network passes major commercial district, hotels and shopping malls in the city. It offers the following light rail services:
- Ampang Line which runs from Sentul Timur to Ampang and Sri Petaling
The Ampang Line is formerly known as STAR LRT, is a driver-operated light rail transportation system. It has two major lines known as Ampang Line and Sri Petaling Line. The Petaling Street (China Town) is within the walking distance from the Plaza Rakyat Station.
- Kelan Jaya Line which runs from Kelana Jaya to Gombak
The Kelana Jaya Line is formerly known as PUTRA LRT, is a fully automated driverless metro system in Malaysia. One of the popular stations is KLCC that brings people to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC.
- KL Monorail Line
The KL Monorail is an intracity public transit system that links many key destinations within the KL’s Golden Triangle.

Information Note for Participants
1. Currency and Banking
The Malaysian currency is Ringgit Malaysia, denoted as RM or MYR. Notes are available in denominations of RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20, RM50, and RM100 while coins are issued in
denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 sen (cent).
Currency exchange booths are available at KLIA and KL Sentral. The exchange rates vary slightly among different banks or vendors.
Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are common throughout Malaysia. Nonetheless, not all ATMs accept foreign debit or credit cards. Participants are recommended to check with their respective card
company for applicable ATM locations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Major credit cards are commonly accepted at hotels, department stores and restaurants. All business transactions are conducted in Malaysian currency. There are limited major department stores that accept foreign currency.
Banking hours in Malaysia are from 9.15 am – 4.30 pm (Mon – Thu) and 9.15 am – 4.00 pm (Fri). They are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. There are exceptions, and a few banks
located in Suria KLCC provide banking services every day of the week.
Climate
Malaysia experiences tropical weather all year-round. Temperatures range from 21oC (70oF) to 32oC (90oF).
Healthcare
Modern healthcare facilities are easily available in Kuala Lumpur and many other urban areas. Pharmacies are also easily found in most shopping areas.
Electricity
Voltage is 220-240 Volt AC at 50 cycles. Standard 3-pin square plugs and sockets are used in Malaysia.

Mobile Telephones and Devices
Participants are advised to check with their respective telecommunication service providers prior to departure to verify whether your phone will operate well in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you need a
local number while you are in Malaysia, you may find a few local telecommunication service providers at the Arrival Level, 3rd Floor of the Main Terminal Building as you approach Customs clearance. The telecommunication service providers for mobile telephones are shown below.

Tipping is not customary in Malaysia.
Local Working Hours
In Malaysia, offices observe a Monday to Friday schedule except for Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. The working hours for government offices are from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm. There is a long
lunch break on Fridays (12.15 pm to 2.45 pm) to allow Muslims to perform their prayers.

Is there any registration fee for participation in the 4th Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum?
No, there is no registration fee for participation. Registration is free for all.
How can I receive financial support for airfare and accommodation?
Among the participants from developing countries that will register in our website, some will be selected for support to cover their participation in the Forum, depending on availability of funds. The rationale for the selection will be the 500-word briefing note that you are requested to submit upon registration.
Who are the facilitators and keynote speakers of the forum?
The sessions will be facilitated by adaptation experts and practitioners from the region. This year's forum will contain a mixture of invited speakers and a selection from others responding to this open invitation to participate. Submitted concept note will be one of the most important criteria for the selection of resource people.
Will there be any paper or poster presentation at the 4th Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum?
No, there will be no paper nor poster presentations in this forum. But there will be a market place to showcase knowledge and organizations.
