Description of Intervention

Enhancing technical capacity for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in Agriculture sector and economic analysis of the policy implications,  adaptation interventions and lessons learned.

Aims

To increase resilience and awareness of local communities engaged in agriculture in Nepal

Objectives

To test and operationalize the shift from a reactive emergency response approach towards a pro-active natural hazard risk prevention/preparedness approach in the agricultural sector

How It Fits into the EbA Concept

The project would also help local authorities to increase awareness and resilience needed to address increasing climate variability and change through prioritised climate change adaptation and disaster preparedness practices.

Results / Outputs

Expected outcomes of the study include:
• Enhanced technical capacity for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in Agriculture sector;
• Strengthened support services for Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in Agriculture sector in the pilot districts; and
• A participatory approach for demonstration of location specific technologies for Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) within the agriculture sector.
